Like most worthwile things, negotiation is one of those skills where you simply have to place yourself in uncomfortable situations in order for you to get better.

When I started in business, I was horrible at negotiating.

But, after negotiating badly and getting burned a few times, I made it my mission to not-suck at negotiating.
