I have been using both services especially when we have projects in school that needs collaboration and file sharing. It is very easy to share files/folders between groups of people. Both services also keep an online backup and keep my files sync on my macbook and my PC at home. The iPhone app of both services works great and is very handy.

I’ve been using SugarSync and sugarsync for about a year now and I’m really satisfied. Very little system load compared to other similar products I’ve tried and has never once crashed.

Pros:
Many features, very stable, easy on system resources

Cons:
Sometimes if you choose manually to move the files to all synchronizing computers (instead of just moving them to the shared folder of ONE computer and then letting SugarSync sync the others via the internet) Sugarsync creates duplicates even though we’re dealing with completely identical files (same checksums).

I am trying to accomplish the following. Have my microsoft outlook pst file being backed up automatically. Then if my laptop crashes I want to immediatly be able to access this from another computer.

My concern is when I get my other laptop back from being repaired, will the newly fixed computer have problems using the PST file that has been being updated by the computer I was using in the meantime.

[...] 1st, your files will not be secure over a DVD, or even a flash drive. Flash drive could be misplaced. They are so small, you might drop sight of it without even figuring out it. Storing your files with a flash drive is like an oxymoron, it just will not take place. Once you files is really worth a huge number of bucks, do you truly trust it in your brief case? Same goes for DVD. Even however a CD is actually a quick way to save knowledge, they are no secure than a flash device. DVD often has scratches in excess of time, and also the top quality deteriorates. To have a peace of mind, skip to Sugarsync Review. [...]

Sugarsync renames the duplicates according to where they we're found again so you'll get to versions of the same file (but with different names) on your computers.
Sometimes you can circumvent this by pressing CTRL-SHIFT-R thereby ordering SugarSync to do a clean restart. But how it really works I don't know....

[...] Basically I specify that the SocialSafe folder you found above should be backed up and SugarSync goes to work. Now if for any reason Facebook changes, or something drastic happens I will have all those wonderful memories backed up. If you aren’t already backing up your data I really do recommend SugarSync. If you haven’t already read my full SugarSync Review. [...]
